New Rules and Policy COVID -19    Effective July 6, 2020

Dear IKF Parents and Students,

Here are the new rules and procedures that we all must follow and abide by.  My focus and concern are the safety and health of all my students and the IKF families.  We need to work together to provide a safe environment for your children to return to their training.  Thank you all for your understanding during these unprecedented times.

For the health and safety of all the IKF Family, it is each parent's and student's responsibility to ensure that they do not attend the dojo under the following circumstances:

-Every student before they can resume training a Covid-19 waiver must be signed.  No exceptions.

-If you or your child are experiencing any symptoms of illness including but not limited to cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or other Covid-19 related symptoms.

-If you or your child have not abided by recommended social distancing practices or engaged in activities with parties that are in violation of recommended social distancing practices.

- If you or your child have traveled internationally or to a highly impacted area within the United States of America within the last 14 days.

-If you or your child have been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of COVID-19.

-We ask all parents to bring their children to class early and on time.

-Before entering the dojo, all students will have their temperature checked.  If their temperature is over 100F they will not be allowed to train that day.  Parents are asked to wait until their children are inside the dojo before leaving.  You are more than welcome to wait for your child in the parking lot until class is over.

-No parents will be allowed inside the dojo during class session.  You are more than welcome to observe class from outside at a safe social distance.

-The dojo will be marked so that every student will be at a safe social distance 8-9 feet apart during class.

-Every student must wear a mask until further notice.

-Students are asked NOT to bring their karate bag with their kumite gear until further notice.  Please come to class with only your karate uniform & belt, water bottle and a towel if you choose too.

-Students will be asked to wash their uniforms daily

-Students will be asked to bring their own water bottles to class

-Between each class the dojo floor will be cleaned before the next class starts.

-Parents will be asked to park their vehicles and personally pick up their children at the exit door after each class.

The maximum of students we are allowing inside the dojo will be 20 students to keep social distancing at all times during the entire class period.

IKF August Update:

posted Jul 31, 2020, 9:36 PM by John Limcaco

Hello Parents and Students,

I hope that you are all in the best of health.  Please continue to wear a mask and keep safe.  Unfortunately, I am still not able to reopen the dojo this coming August.  These are challenging times that we are all facing.  As a karate student you learn to be patient, be positive and always look to be better than you were "Yesterday".  Continue to stay strong mentally as well as physically with a smile on your face.  I hope and pray we ALL find way to work together for the better of everyone.  I am still offering online classes on Zoom.  If you are interested please contact me.  Private Lessons are still available upon request.  Please continue to check our web-site for further information.  Take care and God Bless

My number one priority amidst this COVID-19 pandemic is the safety of our students and families.  Recognizing the situation has changed rapidly and frequently, IKF’s COVID-19 response is flexible to adapt as the situation and public health guidance changes.  As you know, we have seen a spike in local and statewide COVID-19 cases over the past month and although I looked forward to opening the dojo, I have decided to delay the opening to August 3, 2020.  The dojo is completely cleaned and disinfected and is ready to open at any time.  Starting Monday, July 6th, we will resume classes on Zoom.  We will maintain the same schedule as in previous months.  For those that have already paid for July based on the dojo opening, I will refund you the difference of the Zoom classes and in-person classes.  I hope you understand that safety and health of everyone needs to be the priority at this time.  Once again, I want to thank you for your support in this difficult time.  I am looking forward as well as you are to get back into the dojo as soon as possible.  Please continue your social distance and keep safe.
