Dojo will reopen October 1, 2020

posted Sep 29, 2020, 1:19 PM by John Limcaco   [ updated Oct 1, 2020, 10:42 AM ]

Hello Parents and Students,

Finally after a long 7 months the dojo can finally reopen it's doors.  Before returning to the dojo please download and read the Covid-19 rules & procedures.  ALL students must sign the COVID -19 waiver before they can participate in any classes.  Please look at the new class schedule on our web-site.  If anyone has any concerns or questions please contact my directly.  Parents and students please continue to keep safe and continue watching your social distance.  It will be very heart breaking if we are forced to shut down again because people are thinking only of themselves and not the safety of others.  Please do your part!  Students if you have been doing other activities without social distancing please contact me directly.  We are a family at IKF and my focus is the safety of all the students.  Thank you for your understanding in this serious matter.  I want to take this time to thank all the students and parents for their ongoing support during these difficult times.  I look forward to seeing everyone in October.

New Rules and Policy COVID -19    Effective October 1, 2020

Dear IKF Parents and Students,

Here are the new rules and procedures that we all must follow and abide by.  My focus and concern are the safety and health of all my students and the IKF families.  We need to work together to provide a safe environment for your children to return to their training.  Thank you all for your understanding during these unprecedented times.

For the health and safety of all the IKF Family, it is each parent's and student's responsibility to ensure that they do not attend the dojo under the following circumstances:

-Every student before they can resume training a Covid-19 waiver must be signed.  No exceptions.

-If you or your child are experiencing any symptoms of illness including but not limited to cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or other Covid-19 related symptoms.

-If you or your child have not abided by recommended social distancing practices or engaged in activities with parties that are in violation of recommended social distancing practices.

- If you or your child have traveled internationally or to a highly impacted area within the United States of America within the last 14 days.

-If you or your child have been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of COVID-19.

``

-We ask all parents to bring their children to class early and on time.

-Before entering the dojo, all students will have their temperature checked.  If their temperature is over 100F they will not be allowed to train that day.  Parents are asked to wait until their children are inside the dojo before leaving.  You are more than welcome to wait for your child in the parking lot until class is over.

-No parents will be allowed inside the dojo during class session.  You are more than welcome to observe class from outside at a safe social distance.

-The dojo will be marked so that every student will be at a safe social distance 8-9 feet apart during class.

-Every student must wear a mask until further notice.

-Students are asked NOT to bring their karate bag with their kumite gear until further notice.  Please come to class with only your karate uniform & belt, water bottle and a towel if you choose too.

-Students will be asked to wash their uniforms daily

-Students will be asked to bring their own water bottles to class

-Between each class the dojo floor will be cleaned before the next class starts.

-Parents will be asked to park their vehicles and personally pick up their children at the exit door after each class.

The maximum of students we are allowing inside the dojo will be 20 students to keep social distancing at all times during the entire class period.
